Sports Betting 101

NFL & NCAA Football

NFL:

We offer wagering on all quarters and halves for each game.
Money lines will not be offered in games where the favorite is favored by 10 or higher.

NCAA:

We offer wagering on all first halves and second halves.
Money lines are available for most nationally televised games where the favorite is favored by less than 10 points.
Proposition bets are available for every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night football games.

Straight Wagering

Team A is -6 against Team B. Team A must win by 7 points or more for you to win. If you take Team B, your team can lose by a maximum of 5½ points in order to collect winnings for your wager. If Team A wins by exactly 6 points then the wager is a push (no action). The vigorish (or juice) is 10% meaning you risk $110 to make $100 on either team you select. When buying points on and off 3 there is an additional charge.

Wagers on a Total

The total is determined by adding both teams' scores together (including overtime). If the total is 42 and you selected OVER, both teams’ scores must combine to score at least 43 points in order for you to win your wager. If the combined score adds up to exactly 42 the bet is a push (no action). You risk 10% more then you will win, 110 for every 100.

Wagers on a Money Line

To win a money line wager, the team does not have to cover the spread.  Winning on the playing field by any margin constitutes a win.  If team A is -240, team B is +190. The player would risk $240 to win $100 on Team A and risk $100 to win $190 on Team B. In the event of a tie, the play is ruled as a push (no action).

Futures

Legendz Sports offers future bets on total number of wins for the regular seasons, odds to win the NFC, odds to win the AFC, and odds to win the Super Bowl. In all future bets the win will be credited the final day of regular season action.

If Bets

If bets consist of 2 to 5 straight bets joined together by an IF CLAUSE. If the customer's first selection complies with the condition, then the second selection will be processed; if the second selection complies with the condition, then his third selection will be processed and so on. Only full games for football, basketball and baseball are allowed to be used on if bets. Neither hockey nor any other sport is allowed. Each condition will depend on the type of if bet. We offer 2 types which are single action and double action. In single action, the bet will go if wins only. In double action, the bet will go if wins, ties or cancels. As soon as one selection loses the bet will stop there. Please be advised that on each straight bet made in the if bet, the amount has to be the same or less than the previous one. How do you recognize the amount? When the juice is + (positive) the amount goes to the lay. When the juice is - (negative or minus) the amount goes to the win.

Reverse

A reverse is 2 if bets with the same 2 teams. If team A wins, then team B; if team B wins, then team A. When grading a reverse: 2 wins on a $100 wager is a $400 winner; 1 win and 1 loss is a $120 loser; 2 losses is a $220 loser; 1 win and 1 push (tie) is a $200 winner.

Parlays

A parlay is a wager combining two or more teams with the regular spread.  Parlays give the player a payoff advantage. If desired, a player can call in a parlay and/or a teaser with an open spot. For example, if a player wants a 3-team parlay but only has selected 2 games that day he can ask for an open spot on the 3 game. If the two selections win, the player can call the next day to fill in the open spot.

Teasers

Teasers are a type of wager where you are permitted to move the point spread a specific number of points while laying added juice for your advantage.  If any selection is a loss, the wager is graded as a loss. If the player has an open spot and the first selection is a push, the player must fill in the open spot. 1 push and 1 win is no action, 1 push and 1 loss is a loss. All open plays must be filled within 1 week from the original date the play was made. Failure to fill in your teaser in time will result in a loss for that play.

Baseball

  • All wagers on baseball first half (5 innings) will be decided on the basis of the score at the end of five full innings.

  • If a game does not go five full innings, all first half wagers (5 innings) will be canceled.

  • Once 5 full innings have been completed, all wagers on the first half (5 innings) will stand.

  • All first half wagers (5 innings) must list both pitchers. If either listed pitcher does not start, wagers on the first half (5 innings) will be canceled.

  • $500 maximum on sides and parlays.

Money line wagering

To win a money line wager, the team does not have to cover the spread.  Winning on the playing field by any margin constitutes a win.

Example:
Yankees (Cone)  -175 9 - 120
Braves   (Maddux) +55 Even

The home team is always listed on the bottom.

To wager on the Yankees you would risk $175 for every $100 you wish to win.

To wager on the Braves you would risk $100 to win $155.

To wager on a total you would lay $120 to win $100 OVER 9 or $100 to win $100 on UNDER 9 (even money).

Run line wagering

The baseball run line is a combination of a point spread with a money line. In a baseball run line the favorite will be -1½ runs, the underdog will be +1½ runs. The favorite must win by 2 runs in order for your wager to be graded a winner. If you placed a wager on the underdog your team can lose the game by 1 run and you still win your wager. Run lines will be juiced with a typical money line adjusted by pitching match up. Run lines are most commonly used by players who do not want to risk big money on a high priced favorite. All run lines must have listed pitchers.

Example:
Yankees (Cone)  -1 ½ -120
White Sox -1 ½ Even

To wager on the Yankees you would risk $120 for every $100 you wish to win. To wager on the White Sox you would risk $100 to win $100.

Sides are official after 4½ innings when the home team is ahead, otherwise, the game must go 5 complete innings before becoming official. Totals and run lines are official after 8½ innings when the home team is ahead, otherwise, the game has to go 9 full innings before becoming official. Las Vegas rules stipulate that if a game is suspended due to any reason the game reverts back to the last complete inning.

The baseball sides start using a 20 cent line and move up accordingly: -170 / +150, -180 / +160, -190 / +165, -200 / +170, -220 / +180.

The total is always a 20 cent line and always listed pitchers, for example:

10 O -130
     U +110

According to the pitchers that are starting in the game, you can choose to play your wagers action, listed pitchers or selected pitchers.

Action: Your wager is team against team regardless of starting pitchers. For games where a pitching change has occurred and in which you have an action wager, you will receive an adjusted price according to the new pitching match-up.

Listed Pitcher: Both pitchers scheduled to start must throw the first pitch in order for you to have a bet.

Selected Pitcher: You are wagering on your selected pitcher to throw the first pitch in order to have a bet.

All games are graded the same day as played. No exception, win, lose, or push.

Baseball Futures:  Future bets are available on total season wins, National League Champion, American League Champion, and odds to win the World Series.

Hockey

We use a Canadian line for most regular season games.

NY Rangers +1/2 +140  +110
Avalanche -1/2 -160  5u -130

If a player takes the Avalanche they lay $160 for every $100 they want to win. The Avalanche must win the game. If the game ends in a tie, 3 to 3, then the Rangers win the wager because they were plus a ½ goal. If the player takes the Rangers he will lay $100 to win $140. The Rangers can tie or win in order for the player to win their bet. Overtime is always included. If the player bets under 5 goals they lay $130 for every $100 they want to win. Playing over 5 goals the player wins $110 for every $100 wagered.
