Many online sportsbooks spend millions of dollars marketing their brand across the Internet, on the radio and in magazines. Some try gimmicks like buying a piece of French Toast adorned with an image of the Virgin Mary off eBay or sending a fan onto the field during a sporting event with the company name painted on his chest. At Legendz Sports, however, management relies on a more traditional approach - word of mouth. Keep the customer happy and they will keep coming back - and tell their friends. This no-nonsense approach has help to cement Legendz Sports as one of the most solid and well-respected shops on the Internet.

"We are one of those books - you don't see a lot about us on the Internet," said Luke King, CEO. "We are not a mega advertiser. We are not going to put a $3.5 million marketing campaign together. That's because of our customer retention. Word of mouth is the best advertising. One guy has a good experience and he tells his buddies. That's what we attribute 90% of our growth to."

Legendz is the only sportsbook located in the country of Panama and fully licensed by the Panamanian government. Because of the success Legendz has enjoyed since moving from Costa Rica to Panama in 2003, King believes that the Central American country will soon become a hotbed for sportsbooks, much like Costa Rica is today. Panama's infrastructure is more conducive for the offshore betting business, said King, and he expects more books to relocate there in the future.

"I don't think there is a better place in Central or South America to operate a sportsbook," he said. "We are the only licensed international gaming company that has ever been here. The infrastructure is night and day compared to Costa Rica. We are able to save a lot of money in operating costs here in Panama and we can pass along that savings to our customers in the form of bonus incentives and top-notch promotions."

These are just some of the reasons that Legendz Sports has become so popular with recreational bettors. But the main things that keep the customers coming back are the fast payouts and flawless customer service, according to King. "Above and beyond everything we offer, the main reason we have established such a strong reputation in this industry is for payouts and doing them in a timely fashion," he said. "That's what we built Legendz on - speedy payouts and customer service.”

"When you chose your sportsbook you have to look at - not what the sportsbook says about themselves - but what other people say about the sportsbook. A lot of companies say that they keep 100% of player balances, but we do. To me, you chose a book based on how long they have been around and their reputation. By always paying customers fast - faster than anybody - and never having any major complaints, I think that supports the fact that Legendz Sports should be the top choice for players."

To some books customers are just account numbers and there is no personal relationship. The staff at Legendz takes pride in getting to know their customers, often times in person. "We flew a guy in (to Panama) last year for the Super Bowl and he was from Canada," commented King. "He was a customer that had won a contest. I asked him, 'how did you find us and what kept you with us?' He said 'listen, I've played in other places where I had to wait for payouts or I had disputes that weren't handled properly.' He said the customer service and the payouts are what kept him with us. We like to treat our customers like family."
